Support Trip
Help Trip Thrive
On July 14th, our 5-year-old, Trip (Kevin Carter III) – Roblox enthusiast, part-time ninja, and smile-bringer to all he meets – was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia. After months of receiving repeated misdiagnoses of his failing health, we decided it was time for a second opinion – and, like a ton of bricks, suddenly learned not only the true nature of his illness but its severity. Without a second to waste, our little buddy was loaded onto a helicopter and flown to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital to receive the best medical care available.
Trip Is A Fighter
And has honestly been the strongest member of our family throughout all of this. His resilience and fortitude has been nothing short of remarkable.
A few weeks ago, Trip began his first rounds of chemo and is still happy and smiling.
He makes us laugh, plays his favorite video games, and, surprisingly, has decided that he wants to try Korean food. Regardless of the effects the medicine has had on his body – his intellect, his spirit, and his love of life is very much shining through.
We Need Your Help
In the next few months alone, there will be roughly $30,000 in expenses to ensure we can weather this storm to support Trip every step of the way.
We are profoundly relieved that our boy is doing well. However, we are also starting to understand the vast implications of our new financial reality. Having dropped everything on a dime to be by his side, bills are, unfortunately, already overwhelming. Between lost wages, accommodations, travel, day-to-day expenses, personal bills piling up, and the unfortunate reality that we’re currently unclear on how long this process will take, we are humbly reaching out to our friends, family, and community to help out however they see fit.
We thank you so much for your support at whatever level feels right to you.
With love and gratitude,
Trip’s family
